At EDDC, our goal is to discover and develop novel therapeutics by working collaboratively with public sector and industry partners. EDDC now has an opening and is seeking to recruit a highly motivated Principal / Senior Scientist in the Oncology Discovery team. The successful candidate will provide strategic and scientific leadership for inter-disciplinary drug discovery oncology projects. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the team working on the discovery of novel therapeutics and engaging in preclinical drug development from target exploration and validation to drug candidate selection. Principle Roles & Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership : Provide visionary direction and lead a team of cross-functional scientists to drive the discovery of novel biologics for solid tumors, setting research priorities, goals and objectives. Target Identification : Lead efforts and incorporate innovative approaches to identify and validate novel oncology targets, leveraging multi-omics analysis of clinical patients’ datasets and preclinical models. Compound Development : Develop a holistic and robust screening workflow for evaluating preclinical efficacy and safety of biologics. Oversee the screening and characterization of biologics compounds, collaborating closely with the antibody technology group. Assay Development : Develop and drive the creation and supervision of cellular assays including flow cytometry, internalization, immune cells-mediated cell cytotoxicity (e.g. ADCC, TDCC), T cell proliferation, cytokine analyses, and reporter assays for target validation and functional characterization of biologics. Supervise molecular cloning, stable cell-line generation, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, siRNA/shRNA knockdown and qPCR. Data Analysis : Implement state-of-the-art data analysis packages and interpretation approaches to make informed decisions in the therapeutic drug discovery for biologics. Regulatory Compliance : Ensure the research activities adhere to applicable regulatory guidelines and standards, supervise laboratory housekeeping, safety check, SOP writing and participate in regulatory submissions as required. Qualifications and requirements: · Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g. oncology/ immuno-oncology, immunology, pharmacology) with extensive experience in oncology-focused drug discovery in the biologics modalities. · Minimum 8 years of working experience with proven leadership experience, including managing scientific teams in the biopharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. · Strong knowledge of molecular and cellular oncology, genetics, cancer biology, with expertise and in-depth understanding of drug discovery and development of biologics. · Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. · Strategic thinker with the ability to make informed decisions based on data and research insights. · Possess strong interpersonal skills and collaborative spirit.
