Craftsperson / Assembly Technician

Job Description: We are seeking a dynamic and skilled craftsperson (technician) to join our Stage business unit. The Craftsperson is responsible for assembling, aligning, adjusting, and fine-tuning highly complex mechanical and electronic components with an exceptional degree of accuracy and precision. This role demands technical skills, experience, and the ability to handle intricate assemblies that require meticulous attention to detail. The craftsperson will work closely with engineering, to ensure all assemblies meet the highest standards of precision and quality. Key Responsibilities: Component Assembly: · Assemble electromechanical[1]products such as high-precision stages and motion systems according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. · Utilize advanced hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment, including microscopes and precision measuring instruments, to perform assembly tasks. · Ensure all components are aligned and fit together correctly with micro-level precision. · Ensure all assemblies are packed properly for delivery Technical Interpretation: · Read, interpret, and execute complex technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions. · Follow and refine detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure the highest level of precision. Testing and Calibration: · Conduct comprehensive functional tests on completed assemblies to verify and validate proper operation under stringent conditions. · Perform high-precision calibration and fine-tuning of components and assemblies to ensure optimal and reliable performance. · Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and software for testing and calibration processes. Safety and Compliance: · Adhere to and enforce all safety guidelines and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment. · Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, including ISO and other quality management systems. · Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Skill Acquisition, Development, and execution: · Acquire and develop new skills essential to precision assembly. · Stay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in precision assembly and related fields. · Attend workshops, training sessions, and courses to continually enhance technical capabilities and apply new skills to improve assembly processes. Other Responsibilities · Assist the Supervisor in achieving production targets and organizational objectives. · Provide support to the supervisor with any additional ad-hoc tasks necessary for the company's progress. Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor Qualifications: · High school diploma or equivalent; advanced technical or vocational training required. An associate degree or higher in a related field is preferred. · Experience in precision assembly, with preferably 1-3 years in specialized role within a manufacturing or electronics environment. · Proficiency in using advanced hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment. · Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints with precision. · Attention detail and a high level of manual dexterity. · Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex assembly issues. · Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams. · Proven ability to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area. Physical Requirements: · Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, often in a fixed position. · Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. · Capability to lift and move components and assemblies as needed (up to 50 pounds). Working Conditions: · Work is performed in a high-precision manufacturing or laboratory environment. · Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. · Potential exposure to loud noises, dust, and chemical fumes. · Willling to do night shift. Additional Requirements: · Willingness to undergo continuous training and stay updated with the latest advancements in precision assembly techniques. · Flexibility to work overtime or shift hours if required. · Certification in relevant areas (e.g., IPC certification for electronic assemblies) is a plus.
