OVERVIEW The Design Draftsperson plays a key role in preparing precise and detailed design drawings for pre-fabricated modular offices and dormitories, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will have proven skills in preparation of steel structural shop drawing with detailing, cutting list preparation, and construction drawing development to support fabrication and operations. Duties/Responsibilities Design, Drafting, Detailing, Cutting List Preparation and Documentation o Design and develop precise architectural and structural drawings for pre-fabricated modular buildings with detailed annotations. o Prepare cutting lists and construction drawings in accordance with project specifications. o Produce shop drawings for ongoing projects and tender submissions, ensuring clarity and technical accuracy. o Generate detailed cutting lists based on design drawings, optimizing material allocation for fabrication. o Collaborate with the fabrication team to verify the accuracy of cutting lists and make adjustments as required. o Prepare and organize necessary documents for submission to regulatory authorities, ensuring compliance with local regulations. o Assist senior for document control and general paper work. Coordination and Communication o Collaborate with senior and team members to produce comprehensive design drawing and related paperwork. o Coordinate closely with the Contracts, Fabrication, and Operations departments to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable within modular system parameters. o Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to facilitate timely and precise project delivery. o Prepare and compile submission documents for relevant authorities, ensuring full compliance with local building and fire safety regulations. o Provide technical support to site teams during installation, addressing any design or coordination issues promptly. o Work directly with clients to prepare shop drawings that meet project requirements. o Engage with Qualified Persons (QP) throughout all project phases, facilitating the submission, approval, and revision of shop drawings. Quality Assurance o Conduct thorough design checks and clash detection to identify and mitigate potential fabrication or installation issues before production. o Reviews of design drawings prior to fabrication to minimize rework and ensure adherence to project schedules. o Verify the accuracy and completeness of design drawings before on-site installation to support seamless project execution. Meetings and Presentations o Actively participate in tender presentations and project meetings, providing technical insights and expertise. o Collaborate with the Safety Department to prepare and submit method statements and equipment lists, ensuring compliance with safety standards and protocols. o Attend site inspections and progress meetings to verify that installation follows the approved design and presenting technical proposals as required. o Maintain organized documentation of drawings, approvals, and correspondence for project traceability. Innovation in Fabrication Design o Collaborate with the fabrication team to identify innovative solutions and improvements in design methodologies. o Stay up to date with industry trends and technological advancements to enhance design efficiency and overall project quality.
