Job Description Industry/ Organization Type: Marine Position Title: Technical Superintendent Working Location: Jurong East Working Hours: 5 days (Mon – Fri, 9.00am – 6.00pm) Salary Package: Basic salary up to $12,000 + Allowances + Variable Bonus Duration: Permanent Role Key Responsibilities Assist the Fleet Manager in implementing the Fleet Management System and provide advice on vessel performance to improve operations. Verify that vessels have all required valid statutory, class, and trading certificates to maintain compliance. Ensure vessels are operated with proper manning according to Safe Manning Certificates and that all crew members hold valid STCW and flag state documents. Work with the Master and Chief Engineer to prepare a Planned Maintenance Programme for effective long-term maintenance planning. Monitor vessel maintenance activities to ensure inspections, testing, and repairs are completed on time without overdue tasks. Review all spares and stores requisitions from vessels before approving quotations and orders to manage cost and quality. Ensure technical and other reports are submitted on time by vessels and review them to address any issues or performance concerns. Analyze vessel performance data, including speed, fuel consumption, and lubricating oil usage, and implement corrective actions when required. Review fuel oil and lubricating oil analysis reports and advise vessels on necessary actions to maintain engine efficiency. Review vessel budgets against actual expenses, control costs, and recommend budget adjustments with supporting information when needed. Prepare and submit quarterly customer reports covering vessel routing, condition, survey and certificate status, crew matters, off-hires, accounts, class status, and photographic records. Prepare dry-docking specifications, review shipyard quotations, and obtain approval for dry-docking activities. Conduct vessel inspections according to the approved ship visit plan and procedures to maintain operational standards. Handle additional tasks assigned by the Fleet Manager to support fleet operations. Maintain knowledge of vessel commercial matters, including charter party clauses, voyage instructions, reporting requirements, pre-loading surveys, sea protests, insurance claims, and port state pre-arrival reports. Review and approve spares and stores requisitions according to SMS Manual and purchasing procedures. Recommend crew promotions or repatriations for assigned vessels. Approve spares, stores, and repair bills, including dry-docking bills, after clearance from the Managing Director. Approve emergency stores and provisions orders for vessels. Evaluate the performance of senior shipboard staff and provide feedback to the Fleet Manager. Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Fleet Manager. APPLY NOW!!!
