Aramco Trading Singapore (ATS) is the largest subsidiary out of the kingdom and is actively trading within the region and globally across all products since 2018. The Function: The Market Risk Specialist operates under the guidance of the Dhahran based Global Risk Control department and is responsible for executing product control processes and methodologies within the Regional Risk Control group. Produces and issues product control metrics and reports (Mark-to-Market, daily P/L, realized P/L, volumetric exposure, price exposure, etc.) and reviews daily P/L and position reports. Checks transactions are tagged to authorized books and flags any issues to the traders for correction. Validates and documents forward curve methodologies and recommend changes when needed. Reviews trader’s compliance with volumetric and tenor limits and escalates breaches to the Regional Head of Risk and the Regional Head of Trading. Interacts regularly with commercial functions to understand open exposures. Key Accountabilities: • Executes product control processes and methodologies of the Dhahran based Risk Control department and the Regional Risk Control group. • Produces and issues product control metrics and reports (Mark-to-Market, daily P/L, realized P/L, volumetric exposure, price exposure, etc.). • Reviews daily P/L and position reports. • Validates and documents forward curve methodology for Mark-to-Market pricing. Performs back testing on forward curves and recommends changes in existing methodologies. • Interact regularly with commercial functions to understand open exposures. • Reviews trader’s compliance with volumetric and tenor limits and escalates breaches to Regional Head of Risk and Regional Head of Trading. • Stays abreast of product control best practices, identifies improvement opportunities, and works to improve the performance of the Regional Risk Control team. • Performs analysis as directed by the line manager and generally contribute to the activities of the Regional Risk Control team. Requirements: • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in trading risk management or banking • Experience with energy commodities preferred • Financial and valuation analysis experience • Knowledge and application of decision analysis, techniques and statistical modelling relating to both market and credit risk control models • Skilled at developing Product Control metrics and reports (Mark-to-Market, daily P/L, realized P/L, volumetric exposure, price exposure, etc.) • Skilled in developing and validating market risk control models • Skilled in evaluating hedge efficiency and forward curves management • Sound understanding of physical commodity trading business • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of oil trading financial instruments • Knowledge of crude, oil products, LPG, LNG and chemicals industry preferred • Strong knowledge coupled with experiences in implementation of ETRM systems • Strong awareness of latest market developments • Strong ability to challenge Front Office on trading strategy assumptions and propose alternate market perspectives • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong skill set in Python, VBA and SQL programming • Good working knowledge of Market Data systems (e.g. LSEG Workspace, Bloomberg) • Attention to details with a strong process execution focus Application Do you have what it takes?
