As a Public Area Manager, you'll lead the team in maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation, and safety across all public areas of the hotel. You'll coordinate daily public area operations, ensuring all spaces are clean, well-maintained, orderly, and welcoming in accordance with Hilton's brand standards, policies, and procedures. From overseeing housekeeping activities and pest control to enhancing the appearance and upkeep of the hotel's public spaces, you'll create a positive first impression for every guest while helping spread the light and warmth of hospitality throughout their stay. Job Description & Requirements As the Public Area Manager, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards: Check from time to time all public areas and personnel at work. Knowledgeable of all hotel public areas, coordinating with other line department managers in scheduling general cleaning and maintenance of function rooms, lobbies, back-of-house areas. Assist in the planned maintenance of room carpets and marble in the guestrooms. Report any damage of carpet or furniture, etc. for immediate repairs and follow through to completion. Check equipment to ensure that they are functional, clean and properly stored. Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the corresponding areas and assign sufficient employees for VIP functions. Train and supervise employees on the proper use of chemicals. Liaise with the Housekeeping Supervisor in relation to chemical usage, problems or rectification suggestions. Make available equipment and cleaning materials generally required for effective output. Ensure the public area storeroom is clean and tidy, and that chemicals, cleaning supplies and tools are well prepared. Ensure that flowers and plants are in good condition, informing the suppliers to change them when needed. Check public area team members’ grooming, personal hygiene and appearance. Manage the daily work arrangements and relevant administrative approvals for all Public Area employees. Oversee team members’ trainings and development. Manage cost control effectively. Respond to emergencies effectively and efficiently. Maintain good communication with other departments. Deliver high quality service to guests. Adhere to hotel cleaning and maintenance programs and keep work areas clean. Manage pest control throughout the hotel. Adhere to the hotel’s policies and procedures, Hilton code of business conduct and the hotel’s team member handbook. Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned. In addition, this role requires the following minimum qualifications: Minimum 3 years as a Public Area Supervisor or 2 years as an Assistant Public Area Manager in the Housekeeping department. Knowledgeable of public area operations and the usage of cleaning chemicals and cleaning. Able to lead and guide a small group of subordinates. Physically fit and able to work long hours. Good communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Understand basic spoken English to meet business needs.
