About this role

We are looking for a strong engineer to join our founding team and take true ownership of our frontend. We need someone who doesn't just blindly translate Figma layouts into code (we don't have them 😅), but truly feels the product, has a highly developed sense of aesthetics, and can drive a feature all the way from a raw idea to a polished release. Ideally, we are looking for a Design Engineer — someone at the exact intersection of engineering and design, who knows how to make interfaces feel "alive" and doesn't need to wait for a designer to hand off every single hover state. Our Stack: React, Vite, Bun, TanStack (Router/Query), shadcn/ui. What you will do: End-to-End Ownership: Drive the full development cycle of features — from conceptual product discussions to production deployment. Performance & Optimization: Make the interface fly. Fight for 60 FPS, optimize rendering cycles, bundle sizes, and load speeds. Local-First Architecture: Design and implement local-first paradigms for instant UI responsiveness and zero-latency interactions. UX & Micro-Interactions: Breathe life into the UI. Implement fluid micro-animations, seamless transitions, and tactile interface feedback to make the product an absolute joy to use. What we expect from you: Singapore PR/Citizen (Mandatory): You must be based in Singapore and hold either Permanent Residency or Citizenship. Unfortunately, we cannot provide visa sponsorship for this role. Autonomy: You are capable of making both product and technical decisions. If a corner case is missing in the design, you know how to handle it intuitively without micromanagement. AI-Augmented Engineering: You know how to leverage AI coding agents (Claude-code, Codex, etc.) to 10x your productivity. You let AI handle the boilerplate and heavy lifting so you can focus on architecture, complex logic, and UX. Deep Frontend Expertise: You understand how the browser works under the hood, know the cost of every re-render, and know exactly how to profile performance bottlenecks. Modern Tooling: Solid experience with (or the ability to instantly dive into) our stack: Vite, Bun, the TanStack ecosystem, and shadcn patterns. Product Focus & Visual Taste: You understand the core principles of good design, typography, and spacing. You know when an animation guides the user and when it's just annoying. Local-First Mindset: You understand how to build applications where the primary state lives on the client and synchronization happens seamlessly in the background. Why this is a great opportunity: You will be joining at the founding team stage. That means absolute maximum impact on the architecture, tech choices, and how the product ultimately looks and works.
