Job Summary Join Arkema's Technical Services team as a Methods Electrical & Instrument Engineer , where you will be responsible for developing maintenance strategies, improving electrical and instrumentation reliability, and supporting safe, efficient plant operations at our Jurong Island chemical manufacturing facility. This role plays a key part in enhancing plant safety, reliability, and turnaround execution through technical leadership and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Develop, maintain and update electrical and instrumentation maintenance strategies, technical documentation, operating procedures, standards and maintenance methods within SAP and SharePoint. Lead VIS (Vital, Important, Secondary) analysis for electrical and instrumentation equipment to optimise maintenance priorities. Develop spare parts strategies and maintain equipment master data within SAP CMMS. Manage procurement of electrical and instrumentation equipment through the PR/PO process. Develop and implement Return of Experience (REX) practices to capture maintenance learnings and drive continuous improvement. Develop, implement and optimise preventive maintenance programmes, including maintenance checklists and quality templates. Participate in reliability improvement initiatives and lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for equipment failures. Maintain ownership of all electrical and instrumentation technical documentation, ensuring records remain accurate and up to date. Serve as the key technical focal point for internal stakeholders, contractors and Arkema corporate specialists on electrical and instrumentation matters. Provide technical support for plant electrical and instrumentation issues, prioritising plant safety and operational reliability. Prepare technical specifications, evaluate vendors and contractors, and support technical clarification during procurement activities. Support engineering design studies and CAPEX projects while ensuring compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements. Identify and recommend technical solutions to improve equipment reliability, plant performance and operating costs. Manage maintenance service contracts, ensuring scope, quality and performance requirements are effectively delivered. Support plant shutdowns and turnaround planning, including defining turnaround scope, coordinating vendors and participating in turnaround execution. Train and mentor new employees while supporting competency development within the electrical and instrumentation teams. Ensure compliance with HSEQ requirements, participate in incident investigations, implement corrective actions and contribute to HSEQ and Energy improvement initiatives. Act as the primary liaison with the Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) for plant electrical compliance matters. Required Competencies and Certifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electrotechnics or a related discipline with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a petrochemical or chemical manufacturing environment. OR Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electrotechnics or a related discipline with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in a petrochemical or chemical manufacturing environment. Preferred Competencies and Qualifications Extensive knowledge of electrical and instrumentation engineering within a process manufacturing environment. Strong experience with SAP PM, CMMS or equivalent maintenance management systems. Knowledge of DCS, PLC and industrial automation systems. Familiarity with AutoCAD. Strong understanding of ATEX requirements and hazardous area regulations. Experience leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA), reliability improvement and preventive maintenance programmes. Experience supporting plant shutdowns and turnaround activities. Knowledge of contractor management and technical vendor evaluation. Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills. Demonstrates ownership, accountability and commitment to operational excellence within a multicultural work environment.
