Roles and Responsibilities Prepare detailed electrical drawings and technical documentation using AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, EPLAN, or other CAD software. Develop single-line diagrams (SLDs), wiring diagrams, schematic diagrams, power distribution layouts, lighting layouts, and cable routing drawings. Produce electrical panel layouts, termination diagrams, cable schedules, and installation drawings. Interpret engineering designs, project specifications, and client requirements to create accurate construction drawings. Coordinate with electrical engineers, architects, mechanical engineers, and other disciplines to ensure design integration. Review, revise, and update drawings based on engineering comments, client feedback, and site modifications. Ensure all drawings comply with applicable electrical codes, industry standards, and project specifications. Prepare bills of materials (BOM), equipment layouts, and technical documentation to support procurement and construction. Perform quality checks to ensure drawing accuracy, consistency, and completeness before submission. Maintain drawing revisions, document control, and project records throughout the project lifecycle. Provide drafting support during design, construction, testing, and commissioning phases. Assist in resolving technical drafting issues to ensure timely project delivery. Required Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD , AutoCAD Electrical , MicroStation , EPLAN , or Revit MEP . Strong knowledge of electrical drafting standards and engineering documentation. Familiarity with electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), generators, UPS systems, VFDs, and emergency power systems. Understanding of hazardous area requirements and explosion-protected equipment. Ability to interpret electrical specifications, P&IDs, equipment layouts, and vendor drawings. Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, communication, and teamwork. Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic document management systems. Preferred Certifications AutoCAD Certified Professional (ACP). Autodesk Certified Professional – Revit MEP. EPLAN Certified Engineer (ECE). Certification in MicroStation (preferred for power utility projects). Training or certification in IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA 70, or BS electrical standards. Knowledge of hazardous area standards, including IECEx or ATEX. Occupational safety certification (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH, IOSH, or Workplace Safety and Health). Basic knowledge of BIM and 3D modeling workflows. Project management certification (CAPM or PMP) is an advantage for senior roles. Experience working with international engineering standards and EPC contractors.
