Quantity Surveyor

Key Responsibilities Reviewand analyze tender documents, including drawings, specifications, and contract conditions. Prepare accurate quantity take-offs from construction drawings and project specifications. Develop comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQ) in accordance with project requirements and industry standards. Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers andsubcontractors to ensure competitive pricing. Assist in the preparation of technical andcommercial tender submissions. Perform cost analysis, cost comparisons, andvalue engineering to optimize project costs. Identify commercial and contractual risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures. Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, andregulatory requirements throughout the tendering process. Attend pre-tender, tender clarification, andpost-tender meetings as required. Maintain and update cost databases, materialprice lists, subcontractorrecords, and current market rates. Collaborate closely with design, planning,procurement, and project management teams to ensure accuratecost planning and successful project delivery. Prepare cost estimates, budget reports, andtender evaluation documents. Support project cost control and monitor budgetperformance during project execution when required. Qualifications Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, ConstructionManagement, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. Relevant experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, or tenderingwithin the construction industry. Familiarity with local construction regulations, standard forms ofcontract, and industry practices. Key Skills and Competencies Strong proficiency in quantity take-offs, cost estimation, budgeting, andtendering procedures. Sound knowledge ofconstruction methods, materials, contracts, and procurement practices. Excellent analytical,numerical, and problem-solving skills. High level of accuracy andattention to detail. Strong communication,negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independentlywhile managing multiple tenders and deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and Quantity Surveying/estimating software. Ability to workcollaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
