Position Overview The IBMS Engineer (SCADA) is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of SCADA and IBMS software platforms across the company's projects. This role focuses on assisting with system standardization, software configuration, technical documentation, and quality assurance activities to improve system reliability, maintainability, and engineering efficiency. The successful candidate will work closely with project engineers, programmers, and technical leaders to develop standardized engineering practices, support troubleshooting activities, maintain software libraries and templates, and contribute to innovative solutions for project delivery and business development. This position offers opportunities to gain exposure to system architecture, platform standardization, and advanced SCADA technologies such as Niagara and ICONICS. Key Responsibilities Support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of SCADA and IBMS engineering standards, templates, graphic libraries, HMI designs, alarm configurations, reporting templates, and reusable software components to promote consistency across projects. Configure, test, commission, and troubleshoot SCADA and IBMS systems, including database setup, communication integration, alarm management, historical data management, and performance optimization. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, engineering guidelines, testing procedures, user manuals, standard operating procedures, and project handover documentation. Perform Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities, including software reviews, functional testing, compliance verification, and system audits to ensure adherence to established engineering standards and best practices. Provide technical support to project teams by assisting with software configuration, problem resolution, root cause analysis, system performance improvement, and site support activities when required. Collaborate with senior engineers, project teams, and the sales team to evaluate new technologies, develop standardized solutions, support technical proposals, and contribute innovative ideas that enhance project delivery and business competitiveness. Requirements Minimally a Degree in Engineering / Computer Science / a related automation discipline. Preferably with at least 3 years of specialized experience configuring, architecting, and troubleshooting software configurations on major SCADA platforms. Preferably with hands-on experience in Niagara Framework and/or ICONICS platforms, including system configuration, graphics development, alarm setup, reporting, and troubleshooting. The role requires an intermediate-level understanding of integrating industrial automation protocols into SCADA systems including BACnet, Modbus, and OPC UA. Hands-on proficiency with database configuration, SQL query optimization, history logs, and alarm management frameworks is strictly required. Familiar with software architecture principles, system integration, testing, commissioning, and technical documentation preparation is advantageous. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a systematic approach to troubleshooting and root cause analysis Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within project teams while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
