You'll shape regional innovation strategy, drive scientific thought leadership, and partner with the world's leading pharma and biotech innovators to bring life-changing medicines to patients across one of the fastest-growing healthcare regions in the world. It's a chance to leave a mark on the future of medicine. ✨ 🚀 What You'll Do Scientific Leadership & Innovation Serve as the regional subject matter expert in injection science and physiology, drug-device combination products, drug delivery systems, and primary packaging technologies. Lead scientific assessments and feasibility evaluations for new drug delivery concepts, emerging technologies, and innovative customer opportunities. Shape regional innovation strategy across biologics, biosimilars, GLP-1 therapies, vaccines, high-concentration formulations, and large-volume subcutaneous delivery . Contribute to invention disclosures, patents, publications, and scientific presentations that strengthen BD's global thought leadership. Evaluate novel technologies, external partnerships, and open innovation opportunities. Customer & Scientific Engagement Partner with pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers during early-stage development on device selection, injection feasibility, and delivery performance. Translate customer needs into technical requirements across device, formulation, and bench/preclinical/clinical study design. Guide customers from preclinical through clinical development for large-volume and complex injections. Provide scientific input on drug-device combination strategy, platform selection, formulation-device interactions, and technology roadmaps. Partner with Technical Services teams for a seamless transition from early-stage development to commercial support. Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate with Technical Services teams across Greater Asia to align customer support activities and technical knowledge transfer. Work with Global R&D and BDTI to identify opportunities for regional technology development and adaptation. Partner with Marketing and Commercial teams to unlock strategic customer opportunities through scientific expertise. Leverage regional testing capabilities to accelerate feasibility and technology evaluation. Scientific Communication & Knowledge Sharing Represent BD at scientific conferences, industry forums, workshops, and customer events . Develop and deliver scientific training materials for internal stakeholders. Support publication of scientific studies, posters, and technical papers. Foster a strong culture of scientific knowledge sharing across Greater Asia. 🎯 What You'll Bring Education & Experience PhD preferred (Master's accepted) in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Biotechnology, or a related discipline. 5–8 years of relevant experience with a PhD, or 10–12 years with a Master's degree. Hands-on experience with prefilled syringes, autoinjectors, and wearable injectors . Preclinical and/or clinical drug delivery research and model development experience preferred. Technical Expertise Strong understanding of: Prefilled syringes, autoinjectors, and wearable injectors Subcutaneous delivery systems and drug-device combination products Primary packaging and container closure systems Drug-material compatibility and stability considerations Fill & finish manufacturing processes Regulatory and industry standards for combination products and injectable drug delivery systems Languages & Travel Fluent in English and Mandarin (spoken and written) — essential for engaging stakeholders in China.
