Temp Staff (Assistant Scientific Officer (Laboratory Operations)) Location: Jalan Tan Tuck Seng Employment Type: Temporary (1-Year Contract) Contract Period: 1 Year Salary S$18.50 per hour (for degree holders with no work experience) Working Hours Monday to Friday Non-Shift 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, or 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM Shift (Rotational) 12:00 PM to 9:30 PM, or 12:30 PM to 9:30 PM Lunch Break: 1 hour Job Description The Temp Staff (Assistant Scientific Officer (Laboratory Operations)) will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of the laboratory, working closely with management and the wider team to ensure seamless and effective service delivery. Key Responsibilities Oversee the Laboratory Assistant team and sample reception operations, ensuring that all workflows are compliant with accreditation (ISO 15189) and licensing (HCSA) requirements. Manage courier operations in coordination with the Operations Team, including liaising with contracted couriers to ensure timely sample delivery to the National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL) and minimise potential delays in sample processing. Manage data operations, including the processing of surveillance forms and records, as well as performing data entry into relevant IT systems such as the Laboratory Information System (where applicable). This role requires the incumbent to perform shift work on a rotational basis. Assist with finance and procurement duties in coordination with the Operations – Finance & Procurement team and business partners to ensure no disruption to laboratory operations. Undertake any other duties as assigned. Requirements Degree qualification. Applicants with or without relevant work experience are welcome to apply. Able to work on-site in a laboratory environment.
