Micro Café | New Brand Launch | Beverage Leadership Opportunity We are looking for an ambitious, knowledgeable and hands-on Senior or Head Barista to lead the beverage programme of our first micro café concept. Working directly with senior management, you will help build the programme from the ground up — contributing your professional experience to beverage development, coffee sourcing, equipment selection, service systems, quality standards and daily operations. This is not simply an execution role: your ideas, judgement and technical expertise will help shape the identity and future direction of the brand. You will join a proven management team and receive direct mentorship in leadership, commercial decision-making and brand development. Strong espresso preparation, grinder calibration, milk-texturing and manual-brewing skills. A well-developed palate and a practical understanding of coffee origins, processing, roasting and extraction. Experience developing beverage recipes, setting quality standards and training baristas. Familiarity with beverage costing, inventory management and café operating systems. A genuine interest in creating thoughtful, commercially viable drinks. A hands-on leader who is comfortable working in a small, fast-moving operation. Strong organisational skills and close attention to detail. Clear English communication and the ability to work constructively with senior management. A calm, gracious and solutions-focused approach during busy service periods. High standards of discipline, personal responsibility and teamwork. Key Responsibilities Lead the café’s daily beverage operations and is active in preparation and service. Work with senior management to develop and launch the brand’s coffee and beverage programme. Contribute professional input to coffee selection, beverage creation, recipe development, costing and product refinement. Establish espresso recipes, brewing methods, presentation standards and operating procedures. Maintain consistently high standards of flavour, quality, presentation, consistency and speed. Set up and calibrate espresso machines, grinders and brewing equipment throughout service. Monitor extraction, milk texture, water quality and other variables affecting beverage quality. Design efficient bar workflows for a compact, high-performance café environment. Manage ordering, inventory, beverage costs and waste. Source and evaluate coffee, milk, alternative milks and other beverage ingredients with management. Maintain equipment carefully and coordinate routine cleaning, servicing and repairs. Uphold excellent beverage safety, hygiene and workplace safety standards. Recruit, train, guide and motivate a small barista team. Develop training materials and assess the team’s product knowledge and technical skills. Coordinate closely with the culinary and front-of-house teams to deliver a seamless guest experience. Review guest feedback and operational results to improve the programme continuously. Support the future development and expansion of the brand.
