DCN Senior Mechanical Engineer – ETO Location : Singapore Department : Data Center Network (DCN) Engineering Reports To : Engineering Manager Travel : Up to 40% throughout Asia About the Role We are seeking a motivated and capable Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our DCN Engineering team in Singapore. This role is focused on the design and delivery of large-scale modular engineered systems that are manufactured, tested, and deployed across a variety of project locations throughout Asia. The successful candidate will support projects from concept development through detailed design, fabrication, testing, commissioning, and field deployment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for engineers who enjoy solving complex engineering challenges and want to apply and further develop expertise across mechanical system design, equipment packaging, piping systems, structural assemblies, and overall system integration. We are looking for candidates with strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, practical problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, fabricators, customers, and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Mechanical Design & Engineering Develop mechanical designs for modular equipment systems from concept through detailed engineering, fabrication, testing, and deployment. Create and optimize equipment layouts, piping arrangements, structural assemblies, and mechanical interfaces. Perform engineering calculations and analyses to support design decisions and system performance. Develop technical specifications, engineering reports, bills of materials (BOMs), and design documentation. Ensure designs meet safety, reliability, manufacturability, maintainability, and operational requirements. Support product improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost optimization, standardization, and scalability. CAD & Drawing Development Utilize 3D CAD tools to develop detailed models, assemblies, and engineering layouts. Work closely with designers to produce fabrication, assembly, installation, and general arrangement drawings. Provide technical guidance and direction to design resources. Review and approve engineering drawings to ensure compliance with design intent, engineering standards, and project requirements. Manage design revisions and maintain accurate engineering documentation throughout the project lifecycle. System Integration & Cross-Functional Collaboration Coordinate with Electrical, Controls, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Project Engineering teams to ensure successful system integration. Support the integration of mechanical equipment, piping systems, instrumentation, electrical components, and control systems. Participate in multidisciplinary engineering meetings to resolve technical and execution challenges. Ensure alignment between engineering deliverables, manufacturing requirements, project schedules, and customer expectations. Vendor & Contractor Coordination Act as a technical interface between the engineering team and suppliers, fabrication vendors, and external contractors. Review vendor quotations, technical proposals, datasheets, equipment specifications, and manufacturing drawings. Coordinate with vendors and contractors to resolve technical issues and ensure compliance with project requirements. Support supplier selection and procurement activities through technical evaluations and recommendations. Monitor vendor deliverables and drive timely closure of technical actions.
