About this role

CNRS@CREATE-HTXproject Developing Singapore Windfield Predicting Tools CFD Modelling& Simulation Specialist (OpenFOAM) Research Fellow The project Developing Singapore Windfield Predicting Tools is looking for a Research Fellow in CFD Modelling & Simulation (OpenFOAM) . This project is a collaborative project between CNRS@CREATE and HTX. About CNRS@CREATE CNRS@CREATE is a major research enterprise established in 2019 by the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), in partnership withSingapore's National Research Foundation (NRF). It is CNRS's first overseas subsidiary and operates as part of the Campus for Research Excellence and Technological Enterprise (CREATE) in Singapore. CNRS@CREATE brings together researchers from diverse disciplines to conduct transdisciplinary research in strategic areas — including human, energy, environmental, and urban systems —with a strong focus on translating scientific results into practical applications for Singapore and beyond. About HTX (Home Team Science and Technology Agency) HTX is a statutory board under Singapore's Ministry of Home Affairs, and the world's first agency of its kind to bring together science and engineering capabilities across the Home Team departments in a single organization. HTX develops and deploys cutting-edge technologies — spanning artificial intelligence, robotics, sensors, cybersecurity, and CBRNE (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosives) threat detection — to strengthen Singapore's public safety and security capabilities, in close collaboration with academic and research partners such as CNRS@CREATE. DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB POSITION We are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to drive cutting-edge research in CFD Modelling & Simulation with application to experimental set up in a controlled facility. Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant field and demonstrate a strong track record of publications. The Research Fellow will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing high-fidelity CFD simulations to support research activities and experimental validation. KEY RESPONSIBILITY - Lead the end-to-end setup, execution, and analysis ofhigh-fidelity CFD simulations using OpenFOAM. - Develop and validate CFD models for airflow and pollutant dispersion in controlled experimental facilities and urban environments. - Conduct advanced airflow and plume dispersion simulations to investigate transport phenomena under various environmental conditions. - Validate simulation results against experimental measurements and assess model accuracy and uncertainty. - Ensure the physical fidelity, numerical robustness, and scientific reliability of all simulation studies. - Analyse simulation results and communicate findings through technical reports, peer-reviewed publications, and conference presentations. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams and contribute to the development of innovative modelling methodologies and research proposals. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS Minimum: - PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline. - Strong experience in airflow modelling, pollutant dispersion, and turbulence modelling. - Excellent analytical, programming, communication, and scientific writing skills.
