OpenShift Infrastructure Engineer Main Purpose of the Role The OpenShift Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for the patching, vulnerability management, administration, availability, and overall performance of the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and Linux server environments. Roles & Responsibilities Ensure the uptime, performance, security, and compliance of the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) in accordance with organizational standards and best practices. Support and collaborate with Design, Change, Run, Application, and Development teams on OCP requirements, standards, optimization, and troubleshooting. Participate in technical discussions, share ideas, and provide recommendations to continuously improve engineering capabilities, including cost optimization, technology adoption, and operational efficiency. Plan and execute deployment and installation activities, platform upgrades, patching, vulnerability remediation, and disaster recovery testing. Provide Level 3 (L3) support for Red Hat OCP, including change management, system administration, performance monitoring, and availability management. Provide deployment support and resolve issues related to Red Hat OCP configurations and implementations. Conduct assessments and health checks of existing solutions and provide best-practice recommendations and guidance to L1 and L2 support teams. Provide technical assessments and advisory support for patching, system upgrades, and migration of OCP environments, including OCP Operators. Troubleshoot and escalate Red Hat OCP configuration, services, and container-related issues, working closely with relevant IT teams and vendor support to achieve timely and effective resolution. Collaborate with other technical teams, including Network, Windows, IT Security, and Storage teams, as well as external vendors, to support system upgrades and maintenance activities. Develop and maintain technical documentation covering the design, configuration, usage, troubleshooting, backup, and recovery of OCP environments. Develop and maintain scripts to automate and manage the OCP environment. Manage and coordinate infrastructure enhancement projects as required. Requirements Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience with:Red Hat Open Shift Container Platform (OCP)Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)Image Registries Microservices DevSecOps practices Strong hands-on experience working within a large-scale enterprise environment. In-depth knowledge of container platforms, Docker, and Kubernetes. Strong experience in patching and vulnerability management for OCP platforms and Linux servers. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure. Strong team player who works collaboratively and prioritizes overall team outcomes. Experience working in an SLA-driven environment. Ability to work in a flexible, team-oriented, and constantly evolving environment. Willingness to work on weekends according to a roster and provide on-call support during weekdays when required.
