About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced procurement and supply chain leader with deep expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and manufacturing procurement within cable assemblies, wire harnessing, Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), automotive components, medical devices, or related technical manufacturing industries. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Sourcing & Purchasing Director will be responsible for developing and executing CMTI's sourcing strategy while ensuring the organisation maintains a resilient, cost-effective, and high-quality supplier network across Asia and global markets. Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, and Executive Leadership, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening supply chain resilience, driving procurement transformation, reducing total cost of ownership, and supporting the successful delivery of customer programmes. The successful candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with strategic thinking, operational excellence, and exceptional supplier relationship management to deliver sustainable competitive advantage for the business. Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Leadership Develop and execute CMTI's long-term sourcing and procurement strategy to support business growth, operational excellence, and cost competitiveness. Establish strategic sourcing roadmaps across key material categories, ensuring long-term supply continuity and competitive market positioning. Identify opportunities to optimise procurement processes, supplier portfolios, and sourcing strategies that improve overall supply chain performance. Drive procurement transformation initiatives that enhance efficiency, governance, and organisational capability. Supplier Management & Strategic Partnerships Lead supplier identification, qualification, selection, onboarding, and performance management across all major material categories. Develop a resilient and diversified supplier base covering cables, connectors, terminals, PCB assemblies, electromechanical components, plastics, metal parts, and other critical manufacturing materials. Build long-term strategic partnerships with regional and global suppliers to improve collaboration, innovation, quality, and responsiveness. Conduct regular supplier business reviews, performance evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure world-class supplier performance. Cost Optimisation & Commercial Management Lead cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, value engineering, should-cost analysis, and long-term commercial agreements. Negotiate pricing structures, contracts, supply agreements, and commercial terms that deliver sustainable value while maintaining quality and service levels. Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) optimisation across the procurement function through data-driven sourcing decisions and market intelligence. Monitor commodity pricing, currency movements, and market dynamics to proactively manage procurement costs. Procurement Operations & Supply Chain Excellence Oversee day-to-day purchasing operations to ensure timely procurement, accurate demand planning, and uninterrupted material availability. Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Planning, and Operations teams to optimise inventory levels, working capital, and production continuity. Develop procurement KPIs, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to monitor supplier performance, cost savings, procurement efficiency, and operational effectiveness. Champion best practices in procurement governance, compliance, and operational discipline throughout the organisation. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Programme Management, and Operations teams to support new product introductions, customer programmes, and manufacturing scalability.
