About this role

JOB SUMMARY The incumbent of this role person needs to be commercially astute and be able to identify new business opportunities and analyze market to alter the pricing strategies. He/ She should have excellent communication skills to build a good working relationship with internal stakeholders and support the Team in overall pricing and commercial activities to drive profitability through balancing optimized loadings with maximal revenue. He/she should be able to occasionally travel to designated countries in meeting internal stakeholders and customers. RESPONSIBILITIES: Pricing and Commercial (60%): • Manage pricing and commercial activities for Red sea/Middle East/India to China/North Asia/Southeast Asia. • Executing trade strategies and initiatives effectively, timely, accurately, and align with company, national and international regulations. • Analyze, evaluate, research and timely responses to pricing, bid, contract and rate enquiries. • Co-ordinate with Pricing Manager on the day-to-day pricing activities to ensure timely response to sales and pricing productivity per set KPIs as well as correct application of pricing initiatives indicated by the Trade Head is carried out. Market Studies and Reports (40%) • Communicate with both internal and external parties effectively, to provide the convey the trade's strategy and gather market information in both directions. • Provide management with accurate feedback and updates from commercial teams and customers. • Collect market information and set pricing strategies to optimize weekly loading and maximize profitability. • Prepare reports, market studies, competitor analysis and perform other tasks as required by Management. • Monitor and track country’s loading performance closely with optimal cargo mix. • Monitor the equipment balance situation to help group to reduce logistic cost. • Any other duties/ad-hoc tasks as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor’s degree in relevant studies. • Has basic understanding and knowledge of the container shipping industry. • At least 3 years of experience of pricing / trade / sales experience in container shipping. • Proficient with Microsoft Excel (i.e. basic functions, vlookup, pivot table & etc.) • Basic skills and experience in reporting and presentation. • Strong communication skills and customer oriented. • Strong attention to details and effective analytical skills with ability to understand complex information. • Good ethics and professional conduct, with strong sense of responsibility and teamwork spirit. • Effectively bilingual in both English and Mandarin (as the position needs to frequently communicate with English/Chinese speaking associates verbally/ in writing whenever appropriate.
