Group Finance Director (Quant Hedge Fund)

About our client We are partnering exclusively with a well-established quantitative hedge fund to identify a Group Finance Director . Reporting directly to the Group COO, the Group Finance Director will have full ownership of the firm's finance function across a complex, multi-jurisdiction global structure. What You Will Do Partner with the Group COO and Founders to scale and institutionalize the firm's global finance function across corporate, fund, and operating entities Own the full finance function, including corporate accounting, fund accounting, financial reporting, tax, treasury, procurement, and budgeting across all group entities Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including management reporting, consolidated reporting, statutory accounts, and board reporting packs Lead all fund finance matters, including NAV oversight, capital activity, management and performance fee calculations, expense allocations, and fund administrator relationships Drive the group's tax and transfer pricing agenda, including cross-border structuring, intercompany recharge frameworks, and tax risk management Work closely with Treasury on capital, liquidity, cash management, and banking relationships across jurisdictions Own relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, fund administrators, and banking partners Lead the finance workstream for new entity formation, fund launches, and office expansion Build, lead, and develop a high-calibre finance team over time Drive finance systems, process improvement, and automation initiatives to support a scalable, institutional-quality operating platform What We Are Looking For Experience 15 or more years of progressive finance experience, including significant time in senior leadership roles such as CFO, Finance Director, Controller , or equivalent Meaningful experience at a hedge fund, multi-manager platform, proprietary trading firm, or similar buy-side institution — with exposure to both management company and fund-level finance Demonstrated ownership of corporate accounting, fund accounting, financial reporting, tax, and treasury in multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction structures Experience with Asia-based and cross-border operating models, particularly where onshore-offshore coordination creates finance, tax, or governance complexity Exposure to China-related operating structures or RMB/offshore fund mechanics would be a strong advantage Qualifications Qualified accountant (CPA, CA, or ACCA) strongly preferred CFA or MBA in Finance would be an additional advantage Strong technical command of IFRS or US GAAP, hedge fund accounting conventions, and tax concepts relevant to trading and investment structures Attributes Commercial, owner-mindset approach with the ability to translate financial complexity into clear recommendations for senior leadership High integrity and strong control orientation, with a track record of clean audits and disciplined governance Comfortable operating both strategically and tactically — able to dive into detail without losing sight of the broader platform Proven ability to recruit, develop, and lead finance teams in a scaling environment If it sounds like your next move, please don’t hesitate to apply.
