PRINCIPAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: Act as a key member of the leadership team, overseeing finance, accounting & tax, treasury, and risk management functions, while driving financial strategy and supporting sustainable growth of the business, particularly within the energy and LNG business environment. Financial Strategy & Governance • Lead the development and execution of the Company’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and shareholder expectations. • Establish and maintain robust governance frameworks, including clear accountability structures, financial controls, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. • Drive financial discipline across the organization, ensuring effective capital allocation and return optimization. Strategic financial leadership • Provide strategic financial leadership by delivering actionable insights, scenario analysis, and recommendations to support corporate strategy and growth initiatives. • Work closely with commercial teams to evaluate new business opportunities, contract structures, and strategies. • Support the development of long-term business plans aligned with the Company’s vision. Finance Operations Management • Oversee end-to-end finance operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and tax. • Oversee treasury functions, including capital management, cash management and banking relationships. • Enhance operational efficiency and data quality through optimized processes, systems, and resource allocation. Strengthen Risk Management • Strengthening risk management frameworks, with particular focus on commodity price risk (including exposure and hedging strategies) and credit risk. • Define and enforce risk appetite, limits, and control frameworks in collaboration with stakeholders. Forward Planning & Forecasting • Develop forward-looking financial projections, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and capital requirements. • Ensure financial plans are actionable and aligned with both short-term performance targets and long-term strategic objectives. Performance Monitoring & Reporting • Monitor financial performance, conduct variance analysis, and implement corrective actions as required. • Deliver timely, accurate, and insightful management reports to leadership members and shareholders, including clear recommendations. Systems & Process Optimization • Drive the integration and optimization of finance processes and systems, including ERP and trading/ETRM platforms. • Enhance data integrity, automation, and reporting capabilities to support decision-making and scalability. Team Management • Lead and manage the CFO Office, ensuring effective coordination and execution of strategic, operational, and administrative priorities across the department. • Foster a high-performance culture through strong leadership, coaching, and talent development, promoting collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. • Drive workforce planning, succession planning, and capability building to ensure organizational effectiveness and a sustainable talent pipeline. Stakeholder Management • Effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders, including shareholders, senior executives, auditors, and financial institutions. • Facilitate alignment across multicultural and cross-functional teams. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: • Minimum of a degree or diploma in Business Administration, Finance & Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline, with over 15 years of overall experience, including at least 5 years of proven track record in a similar capacity. • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively influence executive-level stakeholders. Fluent in both Japanese and English, with proficiency in written and verbal communication; Japanese communication with internal and external stakeholders is essential. • Capable of working effectively with stakeholders across different levels, cultures, geographies, and functions. • Possess good analytical skills and a strong understanding of the markets in which energy related commodity (especially LNG) operates in will be highly desirable • Capable of identifying risks, implementing controls, and evaluating decisions from a regional and global perspective. • Demonstrates keen attention to detail, with the ability to critically interpret information and assess underlying sources and associated challenges. • Possess a deep understanding of the integrated d…
