About this role
Identify and secure new business opportunities to achieve and exceed sales and revenue targets. Conduct market research and monitor industry trends to support commercial strategies and business growth. Proactively generate new leads through business development activities, networking, and client outreach. Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term relationships with key clients by providing responsive and value-added support. Lead commercial negotiations and prepare proposals, quotations, and contracts within approved commercial guidelines. Work closely with operational and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction. Provide market intelligence and strategic recommendations to support business planning and expansion initiatives. Maintain awareness of competitor activities, customer requirements, and emerging opportunities within the maritime industry. Requirements Diploma or Degree in Maritime Studies, Business, Marketing, or a related discipline. Minimum 5–7 years of commercial or business development experience within the maritime or marine services industry. Proven track record in key account management, business development, and vessel chartering, preferably within the marine towage sector, including port operations and/or ocean-going towage. Strong understanding of Singapore's maritime and port operations environment. Self-motivated, results-oriented individual with the ability to work independently and perform effectively under pressure. Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. Demonstrated experience engaging with senior management and key decision-makers while managing strategic customer relationships. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify opportunities, negotiate favorable outcomes, and contribute to long-term business growth.
