Summary This position supports and accelerates the company’s growth and strategic investment agenda in the Asia Pacific region. The Investments and M&A team plays an important role in originating, analysing, and executing M&A opportunities and broader strategic analysis, enabling the company to expand its footprint and strengthen its position as a leading developer, owner, and operator of renewable assets globally. The individual in this role will play a leading role in evaluating, structuring, and executing strategic investments, divestments, and partnerships across selected markets and transactions in APAC. The role is directly responsible for deal execution across allocated geographies and opportunities, including valuation, offer preparation, due diligence coordination, negotiation support, and internal approvals. The role also contributes to investment-related communications and decision-making within the organisation and serves as an important liaison between APAC and EDP/EDPR Headquarters in Portugal and Spain. The role requires strong commercial judgment, transaction execution capability, and effective collaboration across internal stakeholders and external advisors. It also includes responsibility for guiding junior team members and helping ensure high-quality analytical and execution standards across the team. Responsibilities Support the development and assessment of investment opportunities, partnerships, and M&A initiatives across APAC. Lead financial analysis, valuation, and transaction structuring for allocated investments, acquisitions, divestments, and partnerships. Manage due diligence processes across financial, commercial, operational, legal, tax, and technical workstreams in coordination with internal teams and external advisors. Support bid strategy analysis for NBO/BO stages and relevant auction and direct Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) opportunities, where applicable. Contribute to offer preparation, negotiation support, and transaction documentation for strategic investments and M&A transactions. Prepare and coordinate investment memoranda, presentations, and approval materials for internal decision-making bodies. Conduct market and strategic analysis to support transaction origination, portfolio reviews, and business planning initiatives. Work closely with regional and HQ stakeholders, external advisors, and internal EDPR teams to facilitate timely and well-informed investment decisions during transaction execution. Analyse greenfield projects in terms of economic risk, valuation, and strategic options, and provide reports of findings. Provide guidance and quality review for junior team members’ analyses and deliverables. Support additional strategic and investment-related projects as required. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline; postgraduate qualification, MBA, or equivalent advanced degree is advantageous. 8–12+ years of relevant experience in M&A, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, infrastructure investment, or strategic investments. Big 4, investment banking, or private equity background is advantageous.
