Key Responsibilities: Design electrical architectures for semiconductor process equipment, including power distribution, control panels, field wiring, and electrical schematics. Perform electrical load calculations, component sizing, power distribution design, and electrical protection coordination. Design motor control circuits, sensor and actuator interfaces, instrumentation, and electrical safety interlocks. Select appropriate electrical components based on project requirements, cost, reliability, and manufacturability. Develop innovative electrical solutions for new R&D projects and Customer Engineering Solutions (CES) and Continuous Improvement program (CIP). Collaborate in design reviews and contribute to hardware and software specifications to meet Market Requirement Specifications (MRS). Support the development of automation and motion control systems using PLC-based control platforms. Design and validate digital and analog I/O architectures for modular machine configurations. Integrate servo drives, motors, encoders, pneumatic devices, and field sensors into machine control systems. Support industrial communication interfaces such as EtherCAT, RS-232, and Ethernet-based protocols. Develop and execute complex projects that have a substantial mix of electrical, mechanical, physics, algorithms, and software design. Design and develop system power distribution, voltage transformation/conversion, electrical protection and coordination, Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) and Harmonics management, Electrical Power calculations and Electrical load flow analysis. Work closely with mechanical, software, and process engineers during machine integration and commissioning. Support prototype assembly, system bring-up, debugging, verification and validation testing. Troubleshoot electrical, automation, and system integration issues in laboratory and manufacturing environments. Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, including SEMI, NFPA 79, IEC, and company engineering standards. Manage communications and expectations with internal and external customers and vendors to ensure accomplishing project objectives. Utilize engineering tools such as SAP, AutoCAD Electrical, SharePoint, and document management systems. Work hands-on when needed in the engineering lab and manufacturing to support the installation and test of new designs that get delivered on customer systems. The job incumbent should possess: A Masters’ degree/ bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics Engineering with 2-5 years of relevant working experience in semiconductor industry.
