Laser Cladding Technician / Operator

Key Responsibilities: Operate laser cladding equipment according to approved procedures. Prepare workpieces by cleaning, machining and fixturing prior to laser cladding. Perform machine setup, calibration and routine operational checks. Monitor laser cladding process and adjust machine parameters as instructed. Carry out dimensional inspection and visual inspection of repaired components. Record production data, machine parameters and inspection results. Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping of laser equipment and work area. Follow all Quality, Safety and Environmental procedures. Report equipment abnormalities and quality issues to the Engineer/Supervisor. Support workshop activities, machining and welding work when required. Be prepared, when required, to attend vessels for on-site laser cladding or welding works, and to support other departments on assigned projects from time to time as directed by Management. Requirements: NITEC / Higher NITEC / ITE Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or equivalent. Minimum 2 years in machining, welding, fabrication, CNC operation or mechanical repair. Experience operating laser equipment or CNC machinery is preferred. Understanding and able to intrepid of technical drawings, engineering designs and sketches. Familiar with functioning of laser system including robotic, welding heads, manipulators or, coding will be added advantage thus not required.
