Safety Officer – Job Description (LTA Project) Responsibilities Assist the Safety Manager in ensuring compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH), environmental, and project safety requirements. Carry out safety, health, and environmental activities to ensure all site works follow approved procedures and LTA requirements. Coordinate with project teams, contractors, consultants, and relevant authorities on safety matters. Prepare and submit daily safety reports and highlight any safety concerns. Conduct daily site safety inspections, record observations, and follow up on corrective actions with the project team and subcontractors. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, prepare reports, and assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions. Ensure all workers wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow site safety rules. Monitor and enforce compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act, LTA requirements, and the project's Safety Management System. Identify safety training and certification requirements and ensure workers meet the required standards. Assist in preparing and reviewing Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), and other safety documents. Support safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety campaigns to promote a safe working environment. Required Qualifications Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) – Mandatory . Experience in preparing and implementing Risk Management plans (e.g., bizSAFE Level 2) or equivalent. Good knowledge of the Workplace Safety and Health Act, subsidiary regulations, and LTA safety requirements. Preferred Experience Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in the construction industry. Preferably at least 2 years of experience on LTA projects . Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
