About this role

ABOUT HMLET Hmlet (hmlet.com) is one of Asia-Pacific’s leading flexible-living and co-living brands. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Singapore, Hmlet operates a portfolio of design-led, move-in-ready homes across key gateway cities including Singapore, Hong Kong, and Tokyo, offering members flexible leases, fully serviced residences, and a connected community. Backed by leading institutional investors and real-estate partners, Hmlet is scaling its platform and product lines across the region and building a senior corporate-development function in Singapore to drive its next phase of growth. ROLE OVERVIEW The Vice President, Corporate Development & Special Projects is a senior leadership role responsible for driving Hmlet’s inorganic growth, strategic partnerships, investor relations, and highest-priority cross-border initiatives across Asia-Pacific. Reporting to the CEO, the role combines corporate strategy, M&A and investment execution, investor relations and board reporting, and hands-on leadership of complex “special projects” — from new-market entry and joint ventures to platform and portfolio expansion in the real estate, proptech, and flexible-living space. The successful candidate will be a commercially astute senior operator who has led a business or business unit, executed transactions, managed investor and board relationships, and built real-estate and institutional partnerships — combining deep real-estate expertise with the agility to launch and scale new ventures in a fast-moving environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Corporate Development & Strategy Define and drive Hmlet’s regional corporate-development agenda in line with the company’s growth strategy and board priorities. Identify, evaluate, and execute M&A, joint ventures, strategic investments, and partnership opportunities end-to-end — from sourcing and due diligence to negotiation and integration. Build financial models, business cases, and board-level materials to support investment and strategic decisions. Monitor market, competitor, and regulatory developments across Asia-Pacific real-estate and proptech sectors to shape strategic direction. Special Projects & New-Market Entry Lead high-priority, cross-functional special projects from concept through to execution, mobilising internal and external teams to deliver on time and to plan. Lead regional expansion initiatives, including further development of the Group’s Japan business and entry into other Asia-Pacific markets. Stand up and scale new business lines or country subsidiaries, defining operating models, budgets, and go-to-market plans. Investor Relations, Partnerships & Capital Serve as a key point of contact for investors, building and managing relationships with existing and prospective institutional investors, shareholders, and capital partners. Lead investor-relations activities, including preparing investor updates, presentations, and periodic reporting, and coordinating fundraising and capital-raising processes. Originate and manage relationships with real-estate owners, landlords, developers, and strategic partners across the region to secure inventory and growth opportunities. Governance, Compliance & Board Reporting Prepare board and management reporting packs — including performance updates, strategic analyses, and materials for board and shareholder meetings. Oversee and support corporate governance, ensuring that key initiatives, transactions, and operations comply with relevant regulatory and internal requirements across markets. Coordinate with legal, finance, and external advisors on compliance, corporate-secretarial, and regulatory matters relating to corporate-development activity. Leadership Provide executive leadership across markets and functions, mentoring team members and embedding a high-performance, execution-focused culture. Partner closely with the leadership team to align corporate development with operational and financial objectives. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Economics, Finance, Real Estate, or a related discipline. Minimum 12 years’ relevant experience, including significant senior leadership or general-management responsibility. Demonstrated track record originating and executing M&A, joint ventures, market entries, or strategic partnerships. Deep domain expertise in real-estate development and/or investment, ideally spanning both traditional real estate and technology-enabled or flexible-living business models. Experience in …
