Legal Counsel (In-House) M&A Experience

We are partnering with a global shipping company to hire a Junior Legal Counsel to support corporate, commercial, and compliance matters across the business. This role offers exposure to cross-border M&A, joint ventures, strategic investments, contract negotiations, and regulatory advisory work while working closely with regional stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in private practice or an in-house legal team, with a background in corporate law, M&A, or compliance. Experience in the shipping industry or familiarity with sanctions-related matters will be an advantage. Responsibilities: Provide legal and commercial support on a broad range of corporate and business matters across the organisation. Review, draft and negotiate commercial agreements, corporate documents and other legal contracts. Advise stakeholders on legal, regulatory and compliance matters, ensuring risks are appropriately identified and managed. Support strategic business initiatives, investments and corporate transactions, including conducting legal due diligence where required. Work closely with internal stakeholders and external legal advisors on legal documentation, governance and regulatory requirements. Assist with corporate governance, compliance programmes, policy implementation, internal investigations and related advisory matters. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a recognised institution. Admission to the Bar will be an advantage. At least 2 years of relevant experience gained in private practice or an in-house legal environment. Exposure to corporate, commercial, M&A, compliance or related legal matters. Strong drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills. Proactive, detail-oriented and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
