Regional Project Director

Overall responsibility is to ensure the efficient delivery of medical equipment projects across ASEAN markets, with secondary support for Africa projects. This includes coordinating project execution from order confirmation through installation, commissioning, handover, and after-sales follow-up, as well as maintaining close collaboration with customers, distributors, suppliers, engineers, and internal teams to ensure timely and successful project completion. The candidate will be based in Malaysia, and frequent work travel across ASEAN and selected Africa regions is required. Key Responsibilities 1. Project Management · Manage assigned projects from planning to completion. · Coordinate timelines, resources, site readiness, and customer requirements. · Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. · Monitor progress and resolve project issues promptly. 2. Installation & Commissioning · Coordinate equipment delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning. · Work with local partners, engineers, and suppliers to ensure successful setup. · Support customer handover and go-live activities. 3. Customer & Distributor Coordination · Liaise with customers, hospitals, contractors, and distributors. · Maintain good working relationships and manage customer expectations. · Support local distributors in project execution and service matters. 4. Documentation & Reporting · Maintain project schedules, checklists, and records. · Prepare weekly / monthly project updates for management. · Ensure proper filing of project documents and handover records. 5. Cost & Operational Control · Monitor project expenses and report variances. · Support quotation, costing, tender, and logistics coordination when required. · Assist in achieving timely billing and project closure. 6. Compliance & Quality · Ensure projects comply with local safety, regulatory, and company requirements. · Identify risks early and escalate where necessary. · Promote professional standards and customer satisfaction. 7. Other Duties · Support business development, regulatory, and operational activities when required. · Perform other duties assigned by Management from time to time. Qualifications 1. Minimum a Degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Healthcare Technology, or related field. 2. Relevant project management certification is an advantage. Work Experience 1. Minimum 5 to 8 years relevant working experience. 2. Experience in medical devices, diagnostics, imaging, radiotherapy, or technical equipment projects preferred. 3. Experience dealing with hospitals, distributors, contractors, or technical service teams is an advantage. 4. Regional project exposure preferred but not mandatory. 5. Experience in handling tender projects and customer installations will be an advantage. Competencies 1. Good project coordination, planning and follow-up skills. 2. Practical problem-solving ability. 3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 4. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. 5. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. 6. Good spoken and written English. 7. Ability to communicate in Mandarin and/or Malay is an advantage. 8. Frequent regional travel is required. 9. Willingness to travel across ASEAN and selected Africa markets when necessary.
