About this role
As a Maker Space Educator, you will guide and mentor individuals through the exciting world of technology and creation. You will lead hands-on workshops that not only teach technical skills but also encourage creativity, problem-solving, and the joy of learning through making. Your role will be pivotal in shaping the experiences of our community members, from young students to adult hobbyists, helping them transform their ideas into tangible projects. Key Responsibilities: Conduct and develop project-based learning workshops using tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and CNC machines. Facilitate learning in a variety of settings, including schools, libraries, and community centers. Design and iterate on curricula that cater to different age groups and learning styles. Ensure a safe and collaborative environment, enforcing safety protocols and assisting in troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment. Engage with the community to promote the maker culture and expand our reach. Continuously upgrade your own technical and teaching skills through provided training and self-driven learning. Key Requirements: Education & Certifications: Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Education, Science, Design, or equivalent practical experience. Fresh graduates are strongly encouraged to apply. Technical Proficiency: Proficient with tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, Arduino, and Raspberry Pi. Experienced with CAD/CAM software (AutoCAD, Fusion 360, Inventor, SolidWorks) or possess coding skills (Python, C++, Java). Capable of enforcing safety standards and solving technical issues. Work Experience: Preferably 2 years of experience in teaching, mentoring, or facilitating hands-on workshops. Proven track record in designing project-based curricula for diverse age groups.
