Key responsibilities include conducting thermal simulations, validating results with testing, and collaborating with design and manufacturing teams to optimize thermal performance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Thermal Simulations: · Performing thermal simulations using software tools (e.g., Solidworks, ANSYS, COMSOL) to analyze heat transfer, temperature distribution, and thermal stresses within optical transceivers. · Creating and refining thermal models based on component specifications, operating conditions, and environmental factors. · Analyzing simulation results to identify potential thermal issues, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement. Validation and Characterization: · Developing and executing thermal validation tests to verify simulation accuracy and assess thermal performance under different operating conditions. · Characterizing the thermal behavior of optical transceivers, including temperature rise, thermal gradients, and thermal resistance. · Documenting test results and comparing them with simulation predictions to refine models and design parameters. Collaboration and Optimization: · Working closely with design and manufacturing teams to integrate thermal considerations into the design process. · Identifying and implementing thermal management solutions, such as heat sinks, thermal interfaces, or cooling technologies. · Optimizing the thermal performance of optical transceivers to meet design specifications and operational requirements. KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Simulation Software Proficiency: Experience with thermal simulation software (e.g., Solidworks, ANSYS, COMSOL). Thermal Analysis: Strong understanding of heat transfer principles, fluid mechanics, and thermal modeling techniques. Validation and Characterization: Experience with thermal testing, data analysis, and statistical methods. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and test engineers. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve thermal issues in optical transceiver designs.
