Summary and Objective Reporting to the GM PF of JERA Asia, the candidate will work as an integral member of the business development team to support the team in evaluating and executing business opportunities in new and existing markets. The opportunities will cover greenfield, brownfield and mergers & acquisition (M&A) power/energy projects portfolio development particularly in the area of thermal and LNGinfrastructure-related sectors. The candidate will provide comprehensive support on financing and investment transactions, including having responsibility for financial modelling, valuation and financial analysis and participating in deal evaluation, due diligence and execution. The individual will work directly with the GM PF and other members of the project finance and business development team (including JERA HQ as well as local offices in Asia) to support projects. Essential Functions · Responsible for project financing, structuring of financing solutions for projects under development and negotiations with lenders. · Assist in financial and commercial evaluation of projects and opportunities, including in relation to investments, M&A transactions, development of greenfield projects and others. · Responsible for building, updating and reviewing financial models, for the purposes of preparing proposals, valuations, feasibility studies, due diligence and financing. · Deliver high quality analysis and data including through running scenarios and sensitivity analysis in order to support identification of key value drivers and financial risks. · Prepare and review presentations, briefing papers, reports and materials for internal and external use to support deal activities. · Participate and assist in managing due diligence workstreams and coordinating with external consultants and advisors. · Assist in execution and closings of transactions, including development of initial term sheets, transaction structuring, negotiations of final documentation, securing internal approvals and closings with lenders, investors and joint-venture partners. · Perform any other task that may be assigned from time to time and support ad-hoc initiatives as required. Competencies · Strong financial modelling capability with good understanding of valuation and financial concepts, and proficiency at building complex financial models for the purpose of investment and financing decisions. · Project financing and debt structuring experience, particularly in the power, infrastructure or energy sectors, would be highly preferred. · Demonstrated experience in transaction execution across project lifecycle and different geographies. · Good communication and writing skills, and strong competence in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. · Understanding of market dynamics, key players, financiers and policy and regulations in the energy and infrastructure market in the Asia region. · Highly detail-oriented, with the ability to apply analytical problem-solving skills to complex challenges. · Able to work effectively in a dynamic and evolving environment and demonstrate strong initiative in unstructured environments. · Good interpersonal, relationship management and collaboration skills within large organizations and with multiple external stakeholders. · Proficient in Japanese to effectively communicate with counterparts in Japan, including personnel in JERA Head Office in Japan. Educational Requirement and Experience · Bachelor's Degree in relevant field such as Accounting, Finance, Economics or Mathematics. · At least 4 - 5 years of relevant working experience in energy, power, infrastructure, investment banking or M&A activities.
