About this role
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:45pm Main Responsibilities 1. Supplier Quality Management Qualify and approve plastic injection molding suppliers. Monitor supplier quality performance (PPM, yield, defects). Drive supplier continuous improvement and quality capability enhancement. 2. Process & Product Quality Assurance Ensure molded plastic parts meet drawing, dimensional, material, and cosmetic requirements. Review supplier manufacturing processes and process controls. Verify critical molding parameters are controlled and documented. 3. New Product Introduction (NPI) Support supplier readiness for new product launches. Review and approve APQP/PPAP documentation. Validate supplier capability before mass production. 4. Problem Solving & Corrective Actions Lead investigations of supplier quality issues such as flash, warpage, sink marks, short shots, dimensional failures, and cosmetic defects. Perform root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone methodologies. Ensure corrective actions are implemented and effective. 5. Supplier Audits & Development Conduct process and quality system audits at supplier sites. Assess compliance with quality standards such as ISO 9001 and customer requirements. Train and develop suppliers to improve manufacturing and quality performance. Required Qualifications Education: Possess a Diploma or equivalent. Experience: Minimum 3 years in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Plastic Injection Molding. Technical Knowledge: Experience working with injection-molded plastic components and knowledge of tooling and mold design concepts. Preferred Competencies and Qualifications Supplier audit experience. Proficiency in Basic QC Tools. Familiarity with cosmetic surface standards and appearance inspection. Experience with high-volume consumer electronics, automotive, or industrial products. Possession of a Class 3 driving licence (required for supplier visits).
