Malaysia Base Manufacturing CNC Precision Engineering Company - Operation / Production Manager (Sutera Utama) Position Details Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Work Location: Sutera Utama area, Johor Bahru Working Hours: 5.5 days per week Salary Range: RM 8,000 – RM 12,000 (Commensurate with experience and technical capability) Job Overview Company are an established CNC Precision Manufacturing located in the vibrant Sutera Utama area, Johor Bahru . We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Operation /Production Manager to oversee our precision machining operations. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge of CNC processes (milling, turning, and multi-axis machining) and a proven track record of managing production floors to meet stringent quality, delivery, and efficiency targets. You will lead by example, driving continuous improvement and fostering a high-performance, safety-first culture. Key Responsibilities 1. Production Planning & Shop Floor Execution Lead and manage the daily operations of the CNC production floor, ensuring production schedules are executed efficiently to meet customer delivery dates. Optimize machine utilization and manpower allocation across multiple shifts to maximize output and minimize idle time. Monitor and report on key manufacturing metrics, including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), cycle times, scrap rates, and on-time delivery (OTD). 2. CNC Technical Oversight & Quality Control Oversee the manufacturing of high-precision components, ensuring strict adherence to engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and quality standards. Collaborate with the CNC programming and engineering teams to optimize machining processes, tooling selection, and fixture designs to reduce setup times. Troubleshoot complex machining issues on the shop floor (e.g., tool wear, surface finish defects, dimensional deviations). Enforce a zero-defect mindset, working closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to execute root-cause analysis and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA). 3. Equipment & Maintenance Management Oversee the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and preventive maintenance programs for all CNC machines, tooling, and peripheral equipment to minimize unplanned downtime. Manage inventory levels for raw materials, cutting tools, inserts, and specialized gauges to ensure uninterrupted production flow. 4. Leadership & Workforce Development Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of CNC supervisors, machinists, and technicians, identifying skill gaps and coordinating technical training. Maintain discipline, high morale, and teamwork across all production shifts. 5. Safety, 5S & Lean Manufacturing Drive a culture of continuous improvement by implementing Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S methodologies, and waste reduction initiatives. Ensure absolute compliance with occupational safety and health regulations, ensuring all machine guards, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and safe operating procedures are strictly followed. Job Requirements Education & Experience Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Precision Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Minimum 5–8 years of working experience in a precision manufacturing or CNC machining environment, with at least 3 years in a managerial or senior supervisory capacity . Technical & Personal Skills Strong technical background in CNC milling, turning, turn-mill, or multi-axis machining processes. Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols accurately. Familiarity with various materials (e.g., aluminum, stainless steel, engineering plastics, exotic alloys) and their specific machining characteristics. Strong problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills under tight deadlines. Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing tools (Kaizen, 5S, VSM) is highly preferred. Language: Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. The ability to communicate in Mandarin or Chinese dialects is a significant advantage for effective communication with shop floor technicians and vendors.
