Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Lead Engineer (PM) with 15+ years’ experience in designing, planning, and managing mechanical systems for infrastructure fit-out projects, preferably data centres. This regional role based in Singapore involves leading technical delivery and collaborating with clients, consultants, and contractors across APAC. Responsibilities Review and align Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection drawings and design documentation using Google Workspace, BIM360, and 3Dx cloud platforms to ensure technical accuracy, coordination, and quality compliance with Google Standards, Guidelines, OPRs, and Narratives Lead design meetings by providing actionable input to optimize designs and reduce unnecessary work, offering clear direction to partners on resolving technical challenges Report project issues, progress, and blockers efficiently to the Technical Program Manager and Technical Lead, supporting effective project delivery Provide technical support for off-site manufactured systems, identifying design improvements to enhance manufacturability Collaborate with internal and external teams to maintain technical, safety, schedule, cost, and quality standards throughout project phases Coordinate with approved vendors and contractors to ensure design and equipment alignment with Google requirements, facilitating consensus until scope acceptance Perform technical analysis and calculations for mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, contributing to design studies for new projects Conduct QA/QC peer reviews of design documents using standard checklists and tools on Google Workspace, BIM360, and 3Dx platforms Assist in developing comprehensive scope-of-work and contract deliverable lists for newly identified scopes Escalate design issues impacting multiple disciplines and ensure clear, timely communication and alignment among engineering teams Analyze designs in Revit and Solidworks via BIM360 and 3Dx platforms to identify optimization opportunities Ensure timely review and resolution of deliverable issues, maintaining scope and documenting changes, including preparing studies and presentations on design, cost, and schedule impacts Update owner standard documentation such as specifications and programming documents as design improvements occur Support thermal, hydraulic, CFD, and acoustic analyses for internal and external teams Verify designs comply with regulations and standards specified in Guidelines, OPRs, Narratives, and Specifications for European countries Provide administrative support for project documentation, including revision control, deliverable tracking, and final uploads to the AODocs cloud database system Required competencies and certifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related field Minimum 15 years of experience designing and managing mechanical systems for newbuild or infrastructure fit-out projects In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, codes, standards, and practices for infrastructure fit-out projects Proficiency in mechanical design software and tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and HVAC system simulation software Strong understanding of HVAC systems including cooling towers, chillers, air handling units, and control systems Experience with plumbing and piping design including water distribution, fire protection, and plumbing fixtures Familiarity with energy-efficient design principles and sustainability practices for mechanical systems Excellent project management skills to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver projects on schedule Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders Preferred competencies and qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) license preferred
