Senior Trade Accountant | Commodities Trading Location: Singapore 2-year contract, convertible to permanent based on performance The Opportunity Kepler Search is working exclusively with an international commodities trading organisation to appoint a Senior Trade Accountant. The role is offered as a two-year contract with conversion to a permanent position for a strong performer, and carries broad exposure across the trading book and close interaction with front, middle, and back office functions. Key Responsibilities Manage end-to-end trade accounting across physical and derivative transactions, including trade capture verification, cost accruals, and settlement reconciliation Prepare and review monthly P&L, ensuring alignment between trading, risk, and finance views, and investigating variances Oversee inventory accounting, including mark-to-market valuations, provisional and final pricing adjustments, and stock reconciliations Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting under applicable accounting standards Liaise with traders, operations, and risk teams to resolve trade discrepancies and ensure the integrity of the books and records Assist with audits, tax queries, and continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls Candidate Requirements A recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent) Substantial trade accounting experience within a commodities trading environment, with sound knowledge of physical trade flows Strong understanding of mark-to-market accounting, hedge accounting, and the interaction between realised and unrealised P&L Proficiency with trading and ERP systems, together with strong Excel capability A meticulous, hands-on approach and the ability to work to tight close deadlines in a fast-paced trading environment Please send in your resume in WORD format to nicola.clarke@keplersearch.com Nicola Clarke | EA Licence no. 18S9419 | EA Personnel no.
