Position Summary The DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing,implementing, maintaining and optimising cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines,automation workflows and deployment processes to support scalable, secure andreliable technology operations. The role works closely with development,infrastructure, security and application teams to streamline software delivery,improve system resilience and enhance operational efficiency. The incumbent will support cloud migration initiatives,infrastructure automation, application deployment, monitoring, incidentresolution and continuous improvement of DevOps practices. This role requiresstrong hands-on technical capability across cloud platforms, infrastructure ascode, containerisation, source control, automation, monitoring and productionsupport. Role Snapshot Primary Scope: DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, Automation and CI/CD Technical Focus: Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, Docker, Git, Jenkins / Azure DevOps Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure or equivalent cloud environments Operational Focus: Monitoring, incident support, deployment reliability and continuous improvement Key Accountabilities: Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support efficient application build, testing, release and deployment activities. Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration and deployment using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible or equivalent. Support cloud infrastructure operations across AWS, Azure or hybrid cloud environments. Manage containerised application deployment using Docker, Kubernetes or related orchestration platforms. Monitor infrastructure and application health, identify performance issues and implement proactive improvements. Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment quality, system scalability, reliability and resilience. Support incident resolution, root cause analysis, documentation and continuous improvement of operational processes. Ensure DevOps practices are aligned with security, governance, compliance and operational standards. Core Responsibilities 1. CI/CD Pipeline Management Design, build, maintain and optimise CI/CD pipelines for application deployment. Automate build, test, release and deployment processes to improve delivery speed and consistency. Integrate source code repositories with deployment tools and quality checks. Support pipeline troubleshooting, deployment issue resolution and release coordination. Ensure deployment processes are repeatable, auditable and aligned with release management standards. 2. Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Operations Provision, configure and maintain cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure or equivalent platforms. Support migration from on-premises environments to cloud or hybrid cloud platforms. Manage compute, storage, networking, security groups, load balancing and related cloud services. Monitor cloud resource usage and support cost optimisation activities. Maintain cloud infrastructure reliability, availability, performance and scalability. 3. Infrastructure as Code & Automation Implement Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation or equivalent. Automate system build-outs, environment provisioning and configuration management. Develop automation scripts to reduce manual effort and improve operational consistency. Maintain reusable infrastructure modules, templates and deployment scripts. Ensure automation practices follow security, governance and documentation standards. 4. Containerisation & Orchestration Build, manage and support containerised application environments using Docker. Deploy and manage workloads on Kubernetes or equivalent orchestration platforms. Support container image management, registry usage and deployment automation. Monitor container platform health, resource utilisation and application performance. Work with development teams to improve container readiness, scalability and resilience. 5. Monitoring, Incident Support & Reliability Implement monitoring, alerting and logging solutions for infrastructure and applications. Track system health indicators, performance trends and anomaly detection. Respond to incidents, perform troubleshooting and support root cause analysis. Document technical resolutions, operational procedures and lessons learned. Recommend improvements to enhance system stability, availability and recoverability. 6.
