Business Analyst (Trade Finance)

About the Role Keyrus is looking for an experienced Business Analyst Consultant to join our team and support our client, BNP Paribas, on APAC Trade Finance initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with regional business, operations, product, and technology teams to deliver enhancements and transformation projects for Trade Finance platforms, with a focus on Bank Guarantees. You will be responsible for analyzing business needs, translating requirements into functional specifications, supporting solution delivery, and ensuring successful implementation across the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Business Analysis & Requirement Management • Gather and analyze requirements from Trade Finance Operations, Product, Risk, Legal, Compliance, and IT stakeholders • Map current (“As-Is”) processes and design optimized future-state (“To-Be”) workflows for Bank Guarantee issuance and lifecycle management • Conduct gap analysis between existing system capabilities and business requirements • Prepare detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Requirement Documents (FRD), user stories, and functional specifications • Translate business requirements into clear technical requirements for development teams Functional Design & Delivery • Support functional enhancements for Trade Finance applications, particularly around Bank Guarantees, SBLCs, and Bonds • Define workflow logic including approval flows, credit limit checks, expiry management, and operational controls • Support SWIFT messaging requirements including MT760 (Issuance), MT767 (Amendment), and MT768 (Claim) • Collaborate with Scrum Masters, developers, and technical teams to monitor delivery progress during Agile sprints • Track project risks, dependencies, decisions, and delivery milestones • Participate in project committees and provide updates to stakeholders Testing & Implementation • Lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities • Define test strategy, test scenarios, and test cases covering end-to-end business processes • Work closely with testing teams to validate SIT/UAT results and obtain stakeholder sign-off • Track defects, prioritize fixes, and coordinate with development teams • Support data migration activities and production deployment Compliance & Risk Alignment • Ensure solutions align with Trade Finance regulations and industry standards • Support implementation of ICC rules (URDG 758, UCP 600) and local regulatory requirements • Work with Compliance teams on AML and sanctions screening integration Requirements • Strong experience as a Business Analyst within Banking / Financial Services • Solid understanding of Trade Finance products, especially Bank Guarantees, Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs), and Bonds • Experience working on Trade Finance technology platforms or transformation projects • Knowledge of SWIFT Trade Finance messaging standards (MT760, MT767, MT768) • Experience preparing BRD, FRD, process flows, and functional documentation • Familiar with Agile/Scrum and full SDLC delivery lifecycle • Experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart, or similar • Basic SQL knowledge for data analysis and validation Nice to Have • Experience with Trade Finance platforms such as Finastra, Temenos, Misys, or similar • CDCS (Certified Documentary Credit Specialist) or CSDG certification • Experience working in regional/global banking environments If you are interested in joining Keyrus and contributing to impactful Trade Finance initiatives with a leading global banking client, we’d love to hear from you.
