A leading organisation is strengthening its internal audit function and is seeking an experienced IT audit professional to take a senior, hands-on role. Sitting within the assurance team, you'll lead technology-focused audits across a large and varied systems environment, act as the go-to reviewer for a defined group of business functions, and turn complex findings into clear guidance that senior management and the audit committee can act on. The remit blends delivery and leadership: you'll run engagements independently while guiding and developing a small team of auditors. Your remit Engagement delivery. You'll scope, run and close out technology, operational and advisory audits from start to finish, keeping to the agreed annual plan. Coverage runs across the organisation's key operational areas — among them finance, payments, procurement, supply chain, people and payroll processes, IT, and outsourced or vendor-delivered services. Technical review. Your reviews will look closely at how core applications behave — how data moves in and out, how systems are configured, whether processing logic and interfaces hold up, and whether information stays accurate, complete and available. You'll also examine user access and authorisation design across major ERP modules (for example, general ledger, receivables and payables), and test operational controls covering change management, IT operations and monitoring. Data-driven auditing. Using analytics tooling, you'll interrogate large data sets to pinpoint control weaknesses, sharpen your understanding of transaction flows, and identify where processes can be tightened or automated. Advisory input. You'll take part in system development and implementation reviews, offering a controls-and-security perspective before and after go-live. Reporting and stakeholders. You'll write reports that are precise and genuinely useful, brief operational and senior leaders on the technology and cyber risks that matter, and keep work papers aligned to the team's methodology and quality bar. Building trusted relationships with business owners, IT leads and external auditors is central to the role. People. You'll oversee auditors in the field, review their work, and coach juniors so they grow their technical and audit skills. About you You bring six or more years in IT audit — internal or external — with a background that could come from a Big 4 practice, a sizeable and complex organisation, or a multinational group. We're equally open to candidates who've worked in IT security implementation or technology consulting and want to move into an assurance-focused role. A degree in information technology, computer science, accountancy or a comparable field is expected, and audit or security certifications (CISA, CIA, CRISC, CISM, CISSP, PMP or Agile qualifications among them) will strengthen your candidacy. On the technical side, you're comfortable around enterprise platforms and infrastructure — think ERP environments such as SAP or Oracle, cloud services, databases and SQL, Linux and Microsoft stacks, automation tools like UiPath, and analytics software. You understand how everyday business processes work and where their technology and control risks sit. Just as important, you can dig into a complicated process, trace a problem to its root, and recommend something practical. You communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences alike, and you're self-directed enough to carry engagements and lead a small team without close supervision.
