Partnerships are only as valuable as the outcomes they create. Our client — a leading financial institution is hiring a VP, Strategic Partnerships to build alliances that grow its brand, widen its reach and open new commercial ground. You'll own the partnership agenda from end to end: choosing where to play, forging the relationships, and making sure each one delivers something you can measure. It's a senior mandate held by an individual contributor — you'll assemble and lead project teams as initiatives demand, and spend much of your time in the market alongside external partners. The remit Building the partnership portfolio Set a partnership strategy that maps to where the business wants to grow. Win and negotiate collaborations with global institutions, industry groups, and commercial or media players that pay off both commercially and reputationally. Get more from existing assets, turning them into distribution, content and access to audiences the brand hasn't reached. Push past one-off sponsorships toward jointly built, repeatable engagement models. Put clear metrics around every partnership and hold them to it — audience growth, media value, brand equity and revenue. Brand, reputation and purpose Turn brand strategy into propositions and collaborations that carry the organisation's story to new audiences. Land partnerships that raise its profile and authority, and fold them into headline campaigns, events and content. Lead purpose- and community-focused initiatives that sit naturally alongside the brand, running cross-functional teams from first idea to launch and tying social impact back into the wider engagement story. Making it happen Design experiences and initiatives worth talking about, with partners inside and outside the organisation. Take chosen partnerships from handshake to delivery, pulling together the people, capabilities and budget to see them through. Keep partner and agency relationships in good shape so execution stays consistent. Stay close to market shifts and put AI tools to work to sharpen insight and move faster. The person we're after 12+ years building and delivering partnerships, with the brand and commercial results to show for it. A knack for joining up brand, business goals and market signals into partnerships that scale. Commercial sharpness, and the ability to frame a partnership others want to say yes to. A strong storyteller and presenter who can win support across a room. Comfortable working through agencies and external partners to get concepts built. Level-headed, quick to learn, and steady when things are ambiguous. Hands-on with AI tools. A degree in Business, Marketing or a related discipline. What matters less here is a capital markets background. What matters more is what you can build. Nice to have Some grounding in capital markets or financial services — useful, but not a dealbreaker. Experience running purpose-led or community partnerships.
