Investment Director - Venture Capital

Reports to: CIO/CEO Location: Raffles Place Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Investment Director to join our venture capital team. The successful candidate will lead investments in early-stage opportunities, driving deal sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio management. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of early stage venture capital investing, excellent network, and expertise in identifying and executing investments in Pre-A funding stages. Responsibilities: - Lead investment deals from sourcing to closing, including: - Deal origination and sourcing - Due diligence and financial analysis - Investment thesis development and presentation - Negotiation of terms and closing - Review, draft, and negotiate investment and legal documentation (e.g., term sheets, shareholders' agreements, subscription agreements, SAFEs/convertible notes), working closely with external counsel where needed. -Manage and mentor junior investment team members - Develop and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts - Conduct market research and trend analysis to inform investment decisions - Oversee portfolio company performance, providing strategic guidance and support - Collaborate with the investment team to develop and implement investment strategies Requirements: - 5+ years of experience in early stage venture capital investing, with a strong track record of successful investments - Proven expertise in deal sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio management - Strong working knowledge of venture financing documentation and deal structures (term sheets, convertible instruments, shareholder rights, board matters), with the ability to review and negotiate legal documents directly and exercise sound judgment on when external counsel input is necessary - Strong network in the startup ecosystem and venture capital community - Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills - Experience with deal execution, negotiation, and closing Nice to Have: - MBA, JD, or advanced degree in a related field (e.g., Finance, Business, Economics) - Experience in emerging industry or sector (e.g., Artificial Intelligence, regenerative healthcare, Cybersecurity) - Strong understanding of emerging trends and technologies - Experience with board representation and governance What We Offer: - Competitive salary and bonus structure - International health benefits - Collaborative and dynamic work environment - Professional development and growth opportunities - Access to a strong network of entrepreneurs and investors - Flexible work arrangements and remote work options If you are a seasoned venture capital professional looking to lead investments and drive growth, please submit your resume and cover letter.
