Location: Singapore (on-site / hybrid) Reports to: CTO & Founder What Makes This Role Different You're employee-level early — real ownership, real equity, real influence over what we build and how. You'll work directly with our CTO. Architecture and technical direction are set together; you own execution, delivery, and the team on the ground. No bureaucracy. Decisions happen in a room (or a chat), not in a committee. You'll help hire and lead the engineers who come after you. What You'll Actually Be Doing Own end-to-end full-stack delivery of our core product — from the payroll module to AI-powered workplace features. Turn product ideas into shipped, working features fast — and iterate based on real client feedback. Set engineering standards, run code reviews, and mentor and lead a small and growing engineering team. Work shoulder-to-shoulder with the CTO on architecture, and with the founder on roadmap and priorities. Be the technical voice in cross-functional conversations — with product, with leadership, and sometimes directly with clients. Requirements 1. Product mindset Treats the product's success as your own; focused on outcomes, not just task completion. Pushes back constructively when something doesn't serve the user or the business. 2. Leadership and communication Able to lead and mentor engineers — set direction, review work, and raise the bar without crushing morale. Communicates clearly across all levels — technical and non-technical stakeholders alike. Able to keep a team aligned and moving independently. 3. Full-stack engineering experience Approximately 5 years of experience building real products as a product-minded engineer. Demonstrated track record of shipping end-to-end, not just maintaining existing systems. Comfortable across the stack: modern frontend (e.g. React / TypeScript), backend (e.g. Node.js or Python), relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL), and cloud (AWS). Makes pragmatic engineering trade-offs — knows when to build it right and when to ship and iterate. Nice to Have Domain experience in fintech, payroll, or HR tech. Experience integrating LLMs / AI into products (e.g. Claude or OpenAI APIs, MCP, agentic workflows). Early-stage or startup experience.
