Cook

The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food according to recipes and kitchen standards while ensuring quality, safety, cleanliness, and timely service. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and menu requirements. Perform food preparation tasks such as washing, cutting, chopping, seasoning, and portioning ingredients. Ensure all dishes are cooked properly and meet quality and presentation standards. Check the freshness and quality of ingredients before cooking. Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures at all times. Maintain a clean and organized workstation, kitchen area, and cooking equipment. Store food items properly to maintain freshness and prevent contamination. Monitor food temperatures and cooking times to ensure safety and quality. Assist with receiving, checking, and storing food supplies. Minimize food waste through proper handling and portion control. Support senior cooks and chefs during food preparation and service. Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any faults or maintenance issues. Follow daily kitchen schedules and instructions from supervisors. Assist with cleaning duties, including utensils, equipment, and work areas. Maintain a positive and cooperative working relationship with kitchen team members. Qualifications Previous experience as a Cook or Kitchen Assistant is preferred. Knowledge of basic cooking methods and food preparation techniques. Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards. Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately. Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Good teamwork, communication, and time management skills. Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
