Meranti Power Pte Ltd, a fully owned subsidiary of Energy Market Authority, manages and operates a new power generation station on Jurong Island. We are inviting applicants for the position of Senior Manager, Business Development and Project Management who shall report to the Deputy Head, Business Development. The scope and requirements are as follows: In the immediate term, the incumbent will function as the Deputy Project Manager for a major diesel pipeline infrastructure project, coordinating multiple stakeholders across government agencies, infrastructure owners, consultants, contractors and operating partners to ensure successful on-time project delivery within budget. Beyond project execution, the role will progressively evolve into a strategic business development position. The person will support the assessment of commercial and financial business cases for new business opportunities, conducting market and technical assessments, and establishing relationships with potential partners to expand the Company's portfolio. Job Responsibilities: A) Strategic Project Management Short Term Focus Support the Deputy Head of Business Development as a Deputy Project Manager in delivering a major diesel pipeline infrastructure project from development through to project execution, management and completion. Manage interfaces and communications among key stakeholders including Government authorities and regulatory agencies, Oil Terminal operator, Jurong Island Service corridor provider, Owner's Engineer, Engineering, Procurement &Construction (EPC) contractor and MP internal team. Manage and monitor project matters such as schedules, milestones, deliverables, budget, risks and interface issues Long Term Focus – To exercise project management duties for potential projects in the future. B) Business Development Support the identification, evaluation and development of new business opportunities aligned with the Company's strategic objectives. Develop Business cases and analyse / run numbers on new commercial ideas, balancing the potential revenue against costs. Review business proposals submitted by external parties and assess their commercial, strategic and technical merits, incorporating market outlook. Build new sales pipelines by targeting and securing partnerships with grid operators, power traders, and large industrial energy users. Stay on top of developments in energy regulations, grid policies, and market pricing to spot new business angles early. Lead the commercial negotiation for service contracts, and commercial tenders from start to finish. Conduct market research, industry benchmarking and competitor analysis. Requirements: - At least 5+years of business development or commercial strategy experience with 3 years project management experience within the power generation, utility, or energy trading sector. - Ability to understand engineering concepts and infrastructure development processes. - Strong analytical and financial reasoning skills with the ability to evaluate commercial opportunities. - Working knowledge and understanding of how the electricity market works, including grid services, peaking power economics, and regulatory frameworks. - Candidates with following attributes will have an advantage: an engineering background complemented by commercial or business experience. Comfortable working independently, making cold approaches, and turning abstract market opportunities into concrete revenue for a growing company. A track record of successfully negotiating and closing high-value commercial deals. Knowledge of the relevant authority approvals required would be an advantage. - Willing to work work in Jurong Island.
