We are seeking a VP, Tax Compliance & Strategy to lead taxation matters across corporate and institutional banking operations in Singapore. This role will oversee compliance, reporting, and governance requirements while providing strategic tax advice on products, transactions, and business initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Provide tax-related assistance for businesses in Singapore, emphasizing corporate and institutional banking. Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver on tax priorities, including practical advice on products and transactions. Oversee compliance obligations such as corporate income tax, withholding tax, GST, and transfer pricing, ensuring strong controls and documentation. Handle tax reporting requirements, including provisioning, effective tax rate analysis, and coordination with stakeholders for month-end closing and audits. Support implementation and compliance activities related to Pillar Two and Domestic Minimum Top-up Tax, including data collection, impact analysis, and governance. Identify opportunities for process simplification and drive sustainable adoption with stakeholders. Provide tax analysis and risk mitigation support for business transformation projects. Manage audits and inspections, coordinate responses to tax authorities, and support resolution strategies. Assist with FATCA, CRS, and QI reporting in collaboration with relevant teams. Requirements: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related disciplines, with a professional accounting qualification. Minimum of 10 years of professional tax experience, ideally within banks or financial institutions. Strong grasp of tax accounting concepts (current/deferred tax, provisioning, ETR drivers, audit support) and ability to collaborate with Finance teams. Working knowledge of OECD Pillar Two / Global Minimum Tax and Singapore DMTT, with capability to support compliance and data requirements. Deep understanding of how tax impacts business operations, plus knowledge of FATCA and CRS. Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to manage stakeholders, solve problems, and make sound commercial decisions.
