The Linux & Platform Engineer is responsible for managing and optimizing enterprise Unix/Linux infrastructure supporting mission-critical banking systems. This role combines deep Linux administration expertise with platform engineering, automation, and production operations to ensure high availability, security, and performance across complex environments. Job Responsibilities: Linux Platform Engineering Administer and manage enterprise Linux/Unix systems including RHEL, AIX, CentOS, and Debian. Perform system lifecycle management including installation, patching, upgrades, kernel tuning, and security hardening. Design and maintain high availability by clustering using Pacemaker. Optimize system performance, capacity, and scalability for large-scale environments Platform & infrastructure Management Manage container platforms such as OpenShift and Kubernetes for application deployment and operations. Administer virtualization platforms including VMware vSphere and HCI solutions (Nutanix/VxRail). Support object storage platforms (S3-compatible / enterprise solutions). Oversee backup and disaster recovery solutions using Commvault. Ensure proactive system monitoring, alerting, and incident detection. Manage and integrate monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Dynatrace, Netcool, Splunk, and Grafana. Lead data center migrations and infrastructure transformation initiatives. Automation & DevOps Implement infrastructure automation using Ansible (AAP), scripting, and CI/CD practices. Integrate DevOps toolchains including Bitbucket and Nexus Repository Drive automation initiatives to improve deployment, operations, and efficiency. Operations & Governance Monitor system performance, indexing pipelines, and data lifecycle management. Align with ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management. Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards in banking environments. Participate in production support and provide rapid resolution to operational incidents. Manage security controls including HSM and database activity monitoring (IBM Guardium). Job Requirements: Minimum 8 years of experience in Unix/Linux administration within banking/financial services. Minimum 5 years of experience in RHEL and enterprise Linux environments Minimum 5 years of experience with OpenShift / Kubernetes platforms. Proven experience in automation using Ansible and scripting. Working knowledge of ITIL processes and service management frameworks. Hands-on experience with Ansible Automation Platform and Python scripting. Experience with virtualization, HCI platforms, and storage systems. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
