Job Responsibilities: Technical SME for the Bank’s Data Network Act as the Technical SME and senior escalation point for the Bank’s Data Network. Provide technical ownership across data centre network, LAN/WAN, campus, wireless, SD-WAN, load balancer, GSLB, SASE, Akamai, and internet edge services. Define network standards, architecture principles, configuration baselines, technical patterns, and operational best practices. Review complex designs, changes, incidents, vulnerabilities, risks, and audit findings from a technical SME perspective. Provide expert guidance to network engineers, operations teams, project teams, application teams, security teams, and senior stakeholders. Design, Build, Planning and Transformation Lead the design, planning, build, implementation, and support of enterprise network infrastructure. Develop scalable, secure, resilient, and operationally sustainable designs for data centre, LAN/WAN, campus, wireless, SD-WAN, load balancer, GSLB, SASE, and internet edge environments. Prepare and review design documents, implementation plans, migration plans, test plans, rollback plans, SOPs, and operational runbooks. Drive data centre migration, infrastructure transformation, technology refresh, and network modernisation initiatives. Ensure architecture aligns to banking-grade requirements for availability, security, auditability, control, and operational resilience. Mandatory Hands-on Engineering and Troubleshooting Perform hands-on configuration, troubleshooting, implementation, and advanced fault isolation across enterprise network platforms. Troubleshoot complex issues involving routing, switching, packet loss, latency, application connectivity, DNS/GSLB, load balancing, firewall path, SD-WAN, wireless, and performance degradation. Analyse packet captures using Wireshark, TCP dump, or equivalent tools to support root cause analysis and incident resolution. Personally support major incidents, service restoration, RCA, problem management, and permanent fix implementation. Review configurations, validate designs, assess network flows, and provide technical direction during critical incidents and major changes. Team Leadership, Project Execution and Operations Lead and guide network engineering and operations teams across project delivery, BAU support, incident resolution, and change execution. Drive end-to-end delivery from design, planning, implementation, testing, documentation, and operational handover. Mentor engineers, improve technical capability, and promote knowledge transfer and engineering discipline. Lead day-to-day network operations, escalation handling, service stability, capacity planning, availability tracking, and operational dashboards. Manage vendor coordination, OEM/service provider governance, SLA tracking, lifecycle management, patch tracking, asset/inventory control, and operational escalations. Change, Risk, Vulnerability, Audit and Compliance Review network change requests, implementation plans, risk assessments, impact analysis, test plans, and rollback procedures. Ensure changes are planned, documented, approved, tested, executed, and validated in line with internal change management processes. Participate in CAB/change review discussions, provide technical inputs, and conduct post-change reviews to improve future execution. Manage vulnerability remediation, patching, firmware upgrades, security advisories, platform hardening, EOS/EOL risks, and configuration gaps. Support internal and external audits by providing evidence, technical explanations, control validation, remediation plans, and closure updates. Ensure network configurations, privileged access, change records, vulnerability actions, and operational processes align with bank policies, security standards, and regulatory expectations. Process Improvement and Automation Continuously improve network operations, incident handling, change execution, documentation, and service reliability. Standardise designs, reduce manual effort, improve repeatability, and strengthen governance through templates, runbooks, automation, dashboards, and knowledge sharing. Drive improvements in operational efficiency, incident reduction, audit readiness, vulnerability closure, and service stability. Job Requirements Minimum 14 years of experience in network engineering, infrastructure operations, and enterprise infrastructure delivery.
