The College of Computing & Data Science (CCDS) invites applications for the position of Research Associate >. Key Responsibilities: Conduct individual research within the designed project: process data, develop research methods, build and evaluate computer vision and machine learning algorithms empirically. Author research articles at an international level for peer-reviewed conferences. Engineer software based on the research outcomes of the project and distribute this on the group’s web. Manage own academic research and administrative activities. Adapt existing and develop new scientific techniques and experimental protocols. Test hypotheses and analyse scientific data from a variety of sources. Contribute ideas for new research projects. Develop ideas for generating research income, and present detailed research proposals to senior researchers. Any other duties appropriate with the role. Job Requirements: Hold a relevant Master degree in Computer Science. Sufficient theoretical and practical knowledge of methodologies such as deep and statistical learning. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals and results, and present the research output at meetings. Independent, highly analytical, proactive and a team player Strong publication record at the principal international computer vision and machine learning conferences will be better.
