Join Our Team at the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU Singapore hosts research and education activities in two divisions: Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) and Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP). MAS covers diverse topics ranging from pure mathematics to the applications of mathematics in cryptography, computing, business, and finance. PAP covers many areas of fundamental and applied physics, including quantum information, condensed matter physics, biophysics, and photonics. Over the years, SPMS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers. We are looking for a Project Officer to work on Quantum Error Correction (QEC). The role will focus on the theoretical development of new QEC protocols in view of non-Markovian noise, when conventional paradigms break down. Key Responsibilities: Develop new quantum error correction protocols Formulate theoretical framework for understanding non-Markovian noise in quantum error correction Assist in research grant writing Mentor beginning PhD, Masters and/or advanced undergraduate students Communicate research findings at local and international conferences Write research papers targeted at high-impact journals Job Requirements: Bachelor degree in Physics or related field Proficiency in coding, quantum computation, quantum error correction, non-Markovian noise Good written and oral communication skills Ability to work independently, excellent organizational and time management skills Willing to mentor and nurture postgraduate and undergraduate students Entry level candidates are welcome to apply PhD candidates who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting conferment of the PhD degree are welcome We regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
