About this role

The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU Singapore hosts research and education activities in the Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) and the Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP). MAS covers diverse topics ranging from pure mathematics to applications in cryptography, computing, business, and finance. We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the Division of Mathematical Sciences and contribute to cutting-edge research in representation theory and related areas of pure mathematics. The role will focus on conducting original research in topics such as p-adic representation theory, harmonic analysis, the Langlands program, and geometric representation theory, contributing to NTU's mission of advancing mathematical knowledge and building Singapore's research capacity in fundamental mathematics. Key Responsibilities: Conduct original research in representation theory and related areas, with the goal of producing publications in peer-reviewed mathematical journals Contribute to one or more core research objectives of the group, which may include symmetry breaking and stable distributions, the geometric theory of asymptotic cones in periodically graded Lie algebras, type-theoretic models of the local Langlands correspondence, the Aubert-Zelevinsky involution, and arithmetic applications through Arthur packets and the Gan-Gross-Prasad conjectures Develop and pursue independent research directions within the broader scope of p-adic representation theory, harmonic analysis, and geometric representation theory Present research findings at international conferences, workshops, and seminars, Fulfil any teaching duties as assigned by the division Job Requirements: PhD in Mathematics or a related field (candidates who expect to complete their PhD before September 2026 are welcome to apply) Research experience in representation theory; topics of particular interest include p-adic representation theory, harmonic analysis, the La…
